Melissa Vine has always had a passion for business, having been involved in start-ups, acquisitions, and real estate development. As a licensed mental health counselor, she also served as the Executive Director at a nonprofit that provided recovery housing and supportive services for women rising out of homelessness and domestic violence. After completing her law degree at Drake Law School as an Iowa State Supreme Court Scholar, she fused her skill sets of business, psychology, and law to launch The Capital Vine.
Her mission remains the same: to increase access to resources for all.
Along this journey, she is grateful to have been named the Nexstar Media/WHO-13 2022 Remarkable Woman of the Year, a 2021 member of the Business Record's Forty Under 40, the 2018 recipient of One to Watch, and the 2014 recipient of Service Business of the Year. She has spoken for the FDIC, Business Record, Arts Midwest, Iowa Finance Authority, Small Business Summit, and UK-Medical School.
She works internationally while living in the Midwest; her four (almost) grown sons attend San Diego State, Iowa State, and Central Academy.
